Romantic things to do in Aruba for Couples

There are so many romantic things to do in Aruba for couples. But, a few stand out more than others. Here are some of my favorite date nights, day trips, and adventures in Aruba.

1. Relax on Eagle Beach

Eagle Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Aruba. It’s known for its large stretches of sand and empty shorelines. Compared to Palm Beach, its sister beach next door, Eagle Beach is a quieter, more romantic option.

The soft, sandy shores are perfect for kicking back with a picnic and a cold drink and spending some quality time together under the sun.

There aren’t many restaurants and resorts nearby, so it’s less crowded than nearby beaches.

And of course, there are plenty of other beaches to explore. Arashi Beach is breathtaking and there are usually very few people around this side of the island. Arashi is in the Noord area. Here, there are a few beaches you can hop to if you want to get away and find the non-touristy things to do in Aruba.

Boca Catalina and Malok Beach are also two beautiful beaches that are known for great snorkeling as well.

2. Sail into the Sunset

Sunset in Aruba

One of the most romantic things to do in Aruba for couples is to take a sunset sail along the coastline. A catamaran is a perfect place to spend some quality time floating away from the hustle and bustle.

Sunset cruises in Aruba offer a variety of adventures and amenities. Some give you options to snorkel and sip cocktails from the open bar. Some even offer dinner on the boat or at a beachfront restaurant.

Sailing into the sunset provides picture-perfect opportunities and an unforgettable romantic date night. This is great for you if you like to relax and unwind after a long day of sightseeing or swimming.

3. Romantic Dinner for Two at the Californa Lighthouse

This exclusive dining experience is only available to a few people per day, so plan ahead if dining at the California Lighthouse is on your bucket list.

This lighthouse is a staple on the island, named after the SS California. You can go to the top of the lighthouse and enjoy 360-degree views of the ocean.

Most notably, the California Lighthouse is the best place to watch the sunset on the island. There’s nothing more romantic than watching the sunset from this famous Aruba attraction.

Additionally, the lighthouse is nearby Arashi Beach. Arashi is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Spend some time on the beach before or after dinner. Soak in the views and the clear water on a sunny day.

4. Arikok National Park

Escape the Cold with a Winter Getaway to Aruba

Filling 20% of Aruba’s land is the protected Arikok National Park. For couples looking for fun and adventure, this is the place for you!

The park is home to a variety of attractions. There are limestone caves to explore and rock formations to see. Jamanota Hilltop is the highest point on the island. The most famous part of Arikok National Park, however, is the Conchi Natural Pool.

You can’t get to Conchi Natural Pool without a 4×4, which is a common mistake tourists make when visiting Aruba. If you choose to get a 4×4, it’s more than worth it! Conchi is a natural pool surrounded by high rocks that you can jump in and spend a few hours soaking in the sun.

It costs just $15 to enter, so it’s a budget-friendly activity as well. There’s so much to see and experience within the park, it’s a must-do during your trip to Aruba.

5. Rent ATVs

Renting ATVs is a great way to explore Arikok National Park if you don’t want to venture out alone or don’t have a 4×4 vehicle.

Not only will you get to see Arikok National Park, but ATV tours are a great way to see the whole island of Aruba in one day!

You can stop at the natural cave pool, picturesque bridges, and historic gold mines. You’ll ride through the sand dunes and see a whole different side of the beachy Aruba you know.

There are plenty of Aruba excursions that offer ATV, UTV, and Jeep tours around the island. This is best for the adventurous couple that likes to get out and explore all the unique things the island has to offer.

6. Jump into Aruba’s Natural Cave Pool

Different from the Conchi Natural Pool, you can also visit Aruba’s Cave Pool on the North side of the island. This natural wonder was formed by rocks forming for millions of years to create a small swimming basin.

You can only enter the pool through some jagged rocks and down a ladder onsite, so bring your water shoes.

Because it’s more difficult to get to, it’s rarely busy. This is a great hidden gem to spend some alone time during your romantic vacation. Continue your day by visiting the nearby rock formations and gold mine ruins.

7. Visit Ayo and Casibari Rock Formations

Near the Natural Cave Pool, you’ll also find the Bushiribana Ruins and Ayo and Casibari Rock Formations. These giant boulders date back millions of years ago. You can find petroglyphs from the indigenous Arawak people, the first settlers in Aruba. This is great for history buffs.

The Casibari Rock Formations offer trails to the top for some incredible photo opportunities and panoramic views of the island.

This is a great place to start or end your days watching the sun rise and fall over the horizon.

8. Dine in the Water at the Flying Fishbone

The Flying Fishbone is a popular restaurant in Aruba that allows you to dine in the water. With a delicious menu of seafood and vegetarian options to choose from, this restaurant is sure to be a unique date night opportunity.

You can dine inside if you prefer, or reserve a table after four pm to dine “with your feet in the water”.  Whatever you choose, don’t forget to leave room for dessert!

9. Snorkel Mangel Halto Beach and the Antilla Shipwreck

Escape the Cold with a Winter Getaway to Aruba

There are a few areas with great snorkeling in Aruba, and Mangel Halto and the Antilla Shipwreck are the most popular! Most snorkeling tours in Aruba will make stops at these two sites. You’ll find nurse sharks, eels, and maybe even a few sea turtles if you’re visiting at the right time of year!

The clear waters are perfect for spotting sea life in Aruba. Especially from February to April when the rainfall is at its lowest. Plus, warm water makes it easy to jump in and enjoy!

You can get to some of the coral reefs at Mangel Halto by swimming, but it’s easier to plan a snorkeling tour if you want to hit the best spots.

The Antilla Shipwreck can only be reached by boat as well. Antilla is an old WWII German Ship, and one of the best snorkeling spots in Aruba.

If you love snorkeling, Aruba is a great place to explore the Caribbean sea underwater.

10. Go on a Glass Bottom Kayak Adventure

Explore the mangroves in Aruba while keeping an eye out for wildlife through your glass bottom kayak. Glass bottom kayaks are a fun way to go on a kayaking adventure with a twist.

Kayak tours will take you to and from Mangel Halto, which is one of the best places for snorkeling in Aruba.

If you don’t enjoy jumping in the water, glass kayaks are the perfect way to get your fill of the underwater world while staying safely above water!

Experiencing something new with your partner is the best way to make lasting memories during your romantic weekend away.

11. Sightseeing around Aruba

There’s no shortage of culture, history, and shopping in Aruba. You can spend days wandering around all the shops, vendors, and museums in the area.

Admire the colorful houses lining the neighborhoods in Aruba. Head to the Archaeological Museum if you’re interested in learning about Aruba’s rich history. Stop by the Alto Vista Chapel or the famous Aruba sign!

For art lovers, check out the many galleries and local artists for an up-close look at the crafts and works of art.

And lastly, you can’t forget to take advantage of all the shopping available in Oranjastad. From jewelry and Cuban cigars to aloe and souvenirs, you’ll find something to bring home for everyone you love!

Best hotels for couples in Aruba

While Aruba is known for its nightlife and all-inclusive resorts, some of the boutique hotels are better for romantic vacations and couples getaways. Here are two highly-rated adult-only boutique hotels that I would suggest if you want somewhere special to stay.

The all-inclusive resorts tend to be louder and don’t really offer that “romantic atmosphere” that you’re probably looking for!
